LV.03 Printing

Print it right.

  1. 01Print at 100%Choose “Actual size” or 100% scale, not “Fit to page”, so grids keep their proportions and nothing is clipped.
  2. 02Letter or A4Use the version that matches your paper. Letter for the US and Canada, A4 for almost everywhere else.
  3. 03Save inkEverything in our pack is black-and-white line art. Draft mode works fine.
  4. 04Make it reusablePut a sheet in a clear plastic sleeve and play with a dry-erase marker — wipe and play again.
  5. 05Card gamesFor cut-out cards, thicker paper (160–200 gsm) shuffles better. Some printers need the manual feed tray for it.

LV.04 FAQ

Questions.

Q1Are these printable games free?

Yes. Our Paper Games Pack is free to print and copy for personal and classroom use. The open-source games we link to are free too; each one's licence is shown on its card.

Q2Should I choose Letter or A4?

Letter (8.5 × 11 in) is standard in the US and Canada; A4 everywhere else. Print at 100% / “actual size” so grids aren't shrunk.

Q3Do I need a colour printer?

Not for our pack — every sheet is black-and-white and light on ink. A few of the linked games, like PaperTown, are designed for colour.

Q4Can I reuse the sheets?

Slip a sheet into a clear plastic sleeve and play with a dry-erase marker. It works especially well for Dots and Boxes and Sea Battle.

Q5Why don't you host the GitHub games here?

We link to each author's own page so you always get the latest version and the creator gets the visit. Several of these games generate a new adventure every day.

Q6What's the difference between these and the PDF games on PDFGame?

Printable games are played on paper. Our other PDF games, like Doom PDF or Snake PDF, run inside the PDF file itself in a desktop browser.
