What is Calculator PDF?
Calculator PDF is exactly what it sounds like: a working calculator, styled after the iPhone's, that lives inside a PDF. It isn't a game in the shoot-and-score sense, but it earns its place here as the gentlest introduction to interactive PDFs — every key is a form button and the display is a scripted text field.
The file was put together in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017 in 2018, which makes it one of the older documents in the collection and a good example of what PDF forms were designed for before people started making them run Doom.

How to play.
- 01Open the page in desktop Chrome or Edge (Adobe Acrobat Reader should also work, since the file was built in Acrobat).
- 02Click the number keys to enter a value; it appears in the display.
- 03Click an operator, enter the next number, then press = to see the result.
- 04Press AC to clear and start again.
- 05Try chaining operations to see how the script handles running totals.
How it works.
Unlike most games here, the logic lives in document-level JavaScript — named scripts (here called Functions and Init) that load once when the PDF opens and define shared functions every button can call.
Each key is an Acrobat form button with its own appearance, styled to resemble iOS. Pressing a key runs a one-line action that calls a shared function, which updates the display field's value.
The design also uses optional content groups (PDF layers) for the background and decorative elements, an Acrobat feature that lets parts of a page be shown or hidden independently.
Tips.
- If the display doesn't change, your viewer isn't running PDF JavaScript — switch to Chrome, Edge or Acrobat Reader.
- Click keys deliberately; double-clicks may register as two presses.
- Open the downloaded file in Acrobat to inspect the scripts (Tools → JavaScript) and learn how it's built.
- Use it as a template: replacing the button actions is a quick way to prototype your own interactive PDF.

Calculator PDF, answered.
Q1Is Calculator PDF really a calculator?
Yes. It performs real arithmetic with JavaScript embedded in the document. The buttons are form fields and the display is a text field.
Q2Can I download the calculator PDF?
Yes. Use the download button on this page. It's a small file and works offline in Chrome, Edge or Acrobat.
Q3Does it work on my phone?
Generally no — mobile PDF viewers don't run PDF JavaScript, so the buttons do nothing.
Q4How was it made?
In Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017, using form buttons plus document-level JavaScript shared across all keys.
Q5Who made it?
We don't know the original author. Contact [email protected] if it's yours and we'll add credit.
